Matthias Heyl studied Medieval and Contemporary History, Educational Science and Psychology at the Universität Hamburg. Since 2002 he has been Educational Director of the International Youth Encounter Center Ravensbrück and Director of Educational Services of the Ravensbrück Memorial Site | Brandenburg Memorial Site Foundation. As author and publisher he is responsible for many publications and essays on critical educational and social examinations of the history of National Socialist crimes.
